Little Stars is a satellite service under the Planet Ryan Family Foundation

Our Approach

Our specialist activity team develop both individual and small group programs that are tailored to each child's learning needs. The integrated programs cover all aspects of development – sensory , motor, communication, conceptual, and social skills.

                     We help children:

  • Access play at their developmental level and then extend their variety of play

  • Use their hands and be able to communicate

  • Gain mobility skills

  • Become active learners

  • Reach for the stars!

Our Unique Provision

Little Stars provides integrated learning activities approach based on the belief that each child's own “will to do/desire to learn” is critical in their journey.

We make learning for each child:

  • Relevant to their particular needs

  • Appropriate for their development age, interest and strengths, whilst at the same time addressing challenges.

  • FUN – in capitals!

  • Consistent - children learning sensory and motor controls, communication, and daily life skills need consistency and continuity for learning.

  • Social – children learn best with other children, so our target is to increase small groups of children learning together.

Our specialism is in supporting children and young people with Cerebral Palsy and other similar sensory-motor disorders. Our activity specialist has extensive experience in working with children with sensory processing/sensory integration difficulties co-existing with physical disabilities. The SMART Centre is establishing a range of equipment and resources for learning, targeting sensory processing/sensory integration needs. We are also responding to requests for help from a wider variety of needs, including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). To develop support for these children we will require specific funding.
